Visit Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook for more!
Outside my window...sunny and cool right now...it was 76 at noon today. I bet it got up to 80.
I am thankful for...12 years of marriage to Matt!
From the learning rooms...we are on Thanksgiving break this week! Praise the Lord! The next week is all about family, friends, food, and catching up on the laundry!
From the kitchen...well, I didn't get any cookies made last week, but I'm sure I'll mix up quite a few batches over the coming week. I hope to mix up about 10 batches of gingersnap cookie dough. Clara's birthday is on Wednesday, and I'll be baking a strawberry cake for her, in addition to fixing whatever she wants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When I told her she could have anything she wanted, do you know what she requested? Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. For all three meals. I talked her into chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast (this has become a tradition for birthday mornings at my house), peanut butter and jelly for lunch, and chicken tacos for dinner.
I am wearing...blue jeans, a t-shirt and bare feet.
I am creating...a plan to make sure I am prepared for the next 2 weeks!
I am going...to direct a children's choir for the Christmas Eve Mass at our church! I met with the music director on Saturday to go over music and rehearsals start December 8 (which is after my homeschool choir's concert!). I hope lots of kids sign up! Anna said that she told all the kids in her PSR class to sign up for the choir because "my mom is the best director in town." Well, I couldn't ask for a better compliment than that! Hope I can live up to it!
I am hoping...that the family pictures we took today turn out well.
I am hearing...children screaming happily upstairs. I wonder what is going on up there?
Around the house...I still have to fold those same baskets of laundry (plus more!) I mentioned last week. How embarrassing. I am planning to get caught up on the housework this week.
One of my favorite things...Thanksgiving at my in-laws house! My mother-in-law is an awesome cook and an awesome lady. She makes the best apple pie and homemade rolls in the world.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Clara's birthday is on Wednesday, Thanksgiving on Thursday, good friends are coming over for dinner on Friday, and I hope to make it out to the mall to pick up some good deals at The Children's Place on Friday, too. Next Sunday we are having extended family over to celebrate Clara's birthday with cake and ice-cream. Lots of cleaning, cooking, and visiting with friends and family, but NO SCHOOL!
